The Nationals committed four errors in the game, which led to three unearned runs for the Marlins. The first error came in the top of the first inning when shortstop Luis Garcia misplayed a ground ball, allowing leadoff hitter Jon Berti to reach base. Berti would later score on a sacrifice fly.
The Nationals committed two more errors in the third inning, which led to two more unearned runs for the Marlins. With runners on first and second, Garcia fielded a ground ball but threw it wide of first base, allowing both runners to advance. A sacrifice fly by Jorge Soler then drove in both runners.
The Nationals committed their fourth and final error in the fifth inning, which led to another unearned run for the Marlins. With runners on first and second, third baseman Carter Kieboom fielded a ground ball but threw it high to first base, allowing both runners to advance. A single by Berti then drove in both runners.
Marlins Pitching Staff Shines
The Marlins pitching staff turned in a solid performance, allowing just three runs on seven hits. Starter Edward Cabrera allowed two runs on four hits in five innings of work. The bullpen then combined to allow just one run on three hits in four innings of work.
Dylan Floro picked up the win for the Marlins, throwing two scoreless innings in relief. Richard Bleier earned the save, throwing a scoreless ninth inning.
Marlins Offense Provides Enough Support
The Marlins offense provided just enough support for the pitching staff, scoring six runs on 10 hits. Berti led the way, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Soler also had a big game, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

The Marlins will continue their series with the Nationals on Thursday night. Sandy Alcantara will start for the Marlins, while Josiah Gray will start for the Nationals.
The Nationals will look to avoid a sweep and improve their record to 23-36 on the season.
