MaXXXine Release Date and Details Revealed
Third Installment in Ti West's Horror Trilogy Coming July 2024
Starring Mia Goth as Maxine, 'MaXXXine' Explores the Aftermath of a Massacre
Horror fans rejoice! A24 has released the release date for "MaXXXine," the third installment in Ti West's acclaimed horror trilogy that began with "X" and "Pearl." The film is set to hit theaters on July 5, 2024 in the US and on August 9, 2024 in the UK.
The film reunites West with Mia Goth, who will once again reprise her role as Maxine, the aspiring actress who survived a horrific massacre in "X." According to West, "MaXXXine" will follow Maxine's journey as she continues to pursue her dreams in 1980s Hollywood.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the recently released teaser trailer hints at a return to the campy and gory aesthetic of the previous installments. It opens with a scene in Los Angeles in 1985, where Maxine is introduced as a rising star in the adult film industry, with the words "MaXXXine" emblazoned on the screen.
As with "X" and "Pearl," West has shot "MaXXXine" quickly and on a tight budget. This has allowed A24 to fast-track the film's release, capitalizing on the success of its predecessors. The movie will serve as a standalone chapter while also concluding the thematic and narrative threads that run through the trilogy.
