In a thrilling overtime battle, the Edmonton Oilers emerged victorious over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final. Evan Bouchard's second goal of the game sealed the 4-3 win for the Oilers at the American Airlines Center.
The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading goals throughout regulation time. Bouchard opened the scoring for Edmonton in the first period, but the Stars responded with goals from Jason Robertson and Tyler Seguin. The Oilers tied the game in the third period on a goal by Connor McDavid, and the game went into overtime.
In overtime, Bouchard scored the game-winning goal just over two minutes into the extra period. His shot from the point found its way through traffic and past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger, giving the Oilers the win.
The victory gives the Oilers a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 will be played in Dallas on Saturday night.
